Are you safe?

Mom and Dad, I just saw that the Hurricane at Stage 4 is due to arrive at the tip of the Baja tonight/tomorrow. Are you in safe territory?

"Beht", we are about 3 hours north of Cabo San Lucas which is on the tip of the Baja. We will hunker down with our candles, canned food, & cell phone. Pastor Angel, who lives by us, is coming to secure the compound since he's done that other times when the base leaders have been gone. We will be taping windows, etc. There will be five of us on the base. If it makes landfall at Cabo we will get some of the wind and the rain, but the locals have weathered a number of hurricanes here. That being said, pray that the storm just moves off. We saw that happen at a conference in Redding one time when some of their missionaries were in the path of a small tsunami. We prayed and the thing just disappeared...es posible! Thanks, Sweets, for your concern. Love ya.

Appears that Norbert has become Category 1 and the outer extent of it should pass over La Paz around noon Saturday. Category 1 is winds 74-95 mph, enough to give you an idea of how well your home was built. Remember, in this situation: raincoat, not umbrella, Mary Poppins!
See below.

Thanks Rick for the link. I really like this weather site.

Am popping popcorn early and getting out the new book. Have got Saturday covered (and hopefully our heads too). :)

Looks like Norbert fizzled nicely. What was it like down there in reality world?
