our safe family boy
We found out yesterday that the boy, Joey, we kept for six weeks in 2009, died in a house fire. See facebook for more details... vid of him and pics. We are so saddened. Our friends, the Stipps, kept his sister, who also died in the fire. It is unbelievable that those precious ones could have left this world as they did. It has rocked us, hit so close to home... Taking a child in this way, you love them as your own, no matter how long they are with you. Its not like babysitting.... And as Bethany said one time...fire is a mother's worst fear. Today, I tried to drink the moments with my kids, treasuring each one, knowing that I am not guaranteed tomorrow. Each one is a gift.

Oh, Hols, I am so sorry to hear about Joey and his sister. No one dreams that little ones will have such short lives. Did their parent(s) die in the fire too?
oh wow that is devastating news. i'm so sorry to hear it. i can't imagine what they experienced and it's almost too painful to go there. i will pray for your family. may the lord especially give divine help to your kiddos as they try to understand. laura
