Visitor from Germany
For all who weren't able to join us this week - we had a great time visiting with Matthew. We congratulated him on passing his half-way mark tests as he marches on toward his degree. We took the crew out to Garwood's Orchard to do the obligatory pumpkin purchases, donut eating and buying of all things fallish and homey. Papa gave the children instructions in pumpkin-lobbing much to their squeeling delight. What is it about hurling rotten vegetables and watching them splat that releases the shrieks? We piled everyone around the table for lots of food and catching up on lives. Drank ourselves right out of coffee. Children had lots of fun playing with the toys that have a million pieces and Papa even got them all outside to rake leaves. Finally everyone piled into their cars with their suitcases and carved pumpkins and with children wailing pulled out of the driveway for home. Matthew did the same the next day (minus the wailing) and so ended our delightful visit. Can't wait to rearrange the characters a little bit and do it all again for Thanksgiving!
